Mucosamin Mouthwash is indicated for burning mouth syndrome, including burning mouth syndrome secondary to Sjögren's syndrome (also called Sjögren's disease). It is a topical oral solution that hydrates the oral mucosa and has a protective action on it: it forms a film that covers and protects the mucosa, which helps to reduce pain and burning sensations, while its hyaluronic acid and amino acids help the repair of the mucosa.
Use 5-10 ml three or four times a day, keep it in the mouth for at least one minute and do not rinse afterwards.

Yes. A randomised clinical study followed 60 adults with burning mouth syndrome secondary to local causes for one month. Half used the Mucosamin formulation, applied as Mucosamin Spray three times a day, and half used sodium bicarbonate rinses. After 30 days the oral mucosa had improved by at least one grade in 79% of the Mucosamin group compared with 57% of the bicarbonate group; pain fell in both groups, and patient satisfaction was significantly higher with Mucosamin.6

The only contraindication is known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. There are no reports of interactions with drugs or medicinal substances. There are no known secondary effects during pregnancy and breastfeeding, however use should be at healthcare professional's discretion.
Mucosamin should be stored between 8°C and 30°C in a cool, dry place away from moisture and heat sources. Do not store in the refrigerator. Do not use if packaging has been opened or damaged, or after the expiry date. Keep out of reach of children.
